This year, I really dove in to tabletop RPGs and explored the hobby much more deeply than I did in 2017. I ran or played 55 games in 2018:

  • Call of Cthulhu (Ran: 3)
  • Monsterhearts (Ran: 9 / Played: 12)
  • Monster of the Week (Ran: 2 / Played: 1)
  • Star Crossed (5)
  • Masks (2)
  • Dungeon World (1)
  • The Between (4)
  • Hot Guys Making Out (1)
  • Cthulhu Dark (Ran: 1 / Played: 1)
  • Nerves of Steel (Played: 1)
  • City of Mist (Played: 4)
  • Bluebeard’s Bride (Ran: 2 / Played: 1)
  • Urban Shadows (Ran: 3 / Played: 1)

Of these, 28 games were face-to-face and set in my Queen’s Hollow campaign setting. We played these games in Monsterhearts, Monster of the Week, Urban Shadows, Cthulhu Dark, and Star Crossed.

Of the remaining games, 19 of them were played on Gauntlet Hangouts between September and December. Through the Gauntlet, I was able to play more Monsterhearts and Star Crossed, and was able to play for the first time Cthulhu Dark, Masks, Dungeon World, The Between, Hot Guys Making Out, Nerves of Steel, and City of Mist.

I’m looking forward to trying more games in 2019 and expanding my repertoire of games that I can run on the fly. I’d like to change the tonal balance of the games I play as well, leaning into more light-hearted games.
